At the age of 15, Therese enters a convent, determined to become a Carmelite nun. While preparing for her life as a “Bride of Jesus,” Therese begins keeping a journal, eloquently pouring out her fervent spiritualism between its pages. Soon after joining the order however her faith is tested by a gruelling battle against tuberculosis., for which she refuses any treatment. The strength of her faith eventually becomes the inspiration to both her fellow nuns and the millions of admirers who discovered her after the publication of her diary.
